Sales Manager (Modern Trade) – Fresh Food Products

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Sales Manager (Modern Trade) to lead and manage the sales of fresh food products through modern trade channels. This role requires strategic planning, excellent relationship management, and strong leadership skills to achieve sales targets and ensure the growth of our fresh food product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Strategy & Execution:
    • Develop and implement sales strategies to drive growth in the modern trade channel.
    • Set and achieve sales targets, ensuring revenue and profitability goals are met.
    • Monitor sales performance and provide regular reports with actionable insights.
  2. Key Account Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key modern trade accounts, including supermarkets, hypermarkets, and convenience store chains.
    • Negotiate trading terms, pricing structures, and promotional agreements.
    • Collaborate with customers to develop joint business plans and drive in-store execution excellence.
  3. Team Leadership & Development:
    • Lead and manage a team of sales executives, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
    • Provide training, coaching, and performance evaluations to build a high-performing team.
  4. Market Analysis & Planning:
    • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify opportunities.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute promotional activities to increase product visibility and sales.
    • Recommend product assortments and pricing strategies tailored to modern trade demands.
  5. Operational Coordination:
    • Work closely with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure product availability and timely delivery.
    • Monitor and manage stock levels, reducing wastage of fresh food products.
    • Address customer queries, concerns, and complaints promptly to maintain strong relationships.
Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales management, preferably in the fresh food or FMCG sector.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets within the modern trade channel.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office and sales management software.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
