Job Description
Process Engineer Importance and aim of the job
This role is vital for ensuring accurate design documentation in process engineering projects, impacting compliance, safety, and efficiency. The aim is to produce high-quality AutoCAD and AVEVA P&ID drawings, manage data effectively, and use 3D modeling tools to support successful project execution and coordination.
Key job functions and success-relevant tasks
• Conducted PFD, P&ID, and HMB using process simulation tools such as Aspen Hysys, Aspen Plus, and Pro II.
• Executed feasibility studies, FEED, detailed engineering, activity planning, manpower management, and schedule control.
• Reviewed ITB documents, project specifications, and international codes and standards. • Performed hydraulic calculations, line sizing, and selected equipment and instruments. • Sized and selected PSVs, managed depressurization, header sizing, flare KOD sizing, and
conducted flare studies. • Reviewed vendor drawings and documents, and evaluated technical bids. • Participated in HAZOP studies and SIL reviews, providing process-related
recommendations. • Developed process study reports, startup and shutdown procedures, and operating
manuals. • Reviewed plot plans, equipment layouts, and tie-in locations. • Conducted site surveys and managed pre-commissioning/commissioning and
construction-related activities as needed.
Qualifications and Specifications
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering. • Experienced in process engineering calculations and design within the petrochemical,
refinery, or oil & gas industries. • Proficient with process simulation software such as Aspen Hysys, Aspen Plus, Pro II, and
Flare Analyzer. • Experienced in HAZOP studies, SIL reviews, safeguarding memorandum reviews, and Cause
& Effect Charts. • Knowledgeable about international codes and standards, including API, NFPA, ASME, and
DEP. • Experience with Heat Exchanger design using HTRI and Column Design is a plus. • Strong command of English, both spoken and written. • 0-15 years of experience in process engineering design in the petrochemical, refinery, or oil
& gas sectors. • For senior roles, at least 4 years of experience in leading Feasibility Studies, FEED, Detailed
Engineering, or EPC projects. • Willing to undertake assignments in remote locations or overseas for 1-2 years. • Adaptable to diverse work environments and challenges. • Enthusiastic about learning new technologies, process optimization, and innovations from
Samsung E&A.
